Good morning,

My name is Amie Whitmore, and I am the Experiential Connections Coordinator for the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area. I am thrilled to invite you to the exclusive soft launch of our Bad*ss Women of Niagara Tour. We are excited to unveil this unique experience to the public in Summer 2025, and we would love for you to join us at this special preview event.

Niagara Falls, recognized as one of the world's wonders, has captivated travelers with its breathtaking beauty, immense power, and enigmatic allure. Beyond its natural splendor, the Falls has been a backdrop for the tales of many remarkable Bad*ss Women. Their stories not only astonish and inspire but also leave an indelible mark on our world.

Join me on this tour, and you will get to know:

- A woman mistaken for a spy and hailed off to the Niagara Falls Police Station.

- A woman who walks a fine line between life and death over a period of 13 years. 

- A woman who, if "The Great American Baking Show" had existed in the mid to late 1800s, she would have literally taken the cake!

- A woman about whom it was remarked, "an obituary should be kept ready by every newspaper."

The stories of the Bad*ss Women of Niagara range from daring, to dangerous, to plain absurd. 

Join me on a journey as we delve into the trials these women overcame— breaking through barriers, challenging beliefs, and confronting adversity to carve out their unique place beyond the confines of societal norms.

When:

Friday September 20th from 5-7pm

Sunday September 22nd from 2-4pm

Sunday September 29th from 2-4pm

Where:

The tour departs from the NF Amtrak Station Lobby, 825 Depot Ave. in Niagara Falls, NY. The tour will visit three locations using the Discover Niagara Shuttle. The tour does involve a fair amount of walking, some of which is on uneven surfaces. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for weather. If the weather is completely uncooperative, I will send an email cancelling the tour.
